What is Coaching?

Coaching focuses on outcomes and is an excellent way to enhance your confidence, thus enabling you to function more happily and effectively.

Effective coaching is a combination of challenge and support that allows the client to gain new perspectives. Using exceptional listening skills and powerful questions, the coach enables the client to gain new insights. The coaching conversation also examines long held beliefs that may be getting in the way of achieving what we really want.

We can all lose perspective sometimes and coaching offers a great way of standing back to take stock of what we’re up to and what we’d like to change. Coaching gives us the chance to reflect on the consequences of what we do (often without thinking) and how we relate to those around us.

Coaching gives the time and space to think openly in a non-judgemental and supportive environment that provides increased self-awareness and reflection. All of us have unique abilities and qualities that once identified and acknowledged lead us to living a more fulfilled life.

The coaching relationship is deemed to be a relationship of equals, where the only agenda is the client’s. It is not teacher/pupil or doctor/patient.

As your confidence builds, fresh perspectives emerge along with more choices. This enables you to take more control of different aspects of your life and day-to-day decision making.

Polly is an amazing coach; I worked with her and got some great results and a completely new perspective on an issue that had been holding me back. Polly challenged my thinking appropriately and we got effective outcomes in a very short space of time.
